I recently discovered a (new to me) book series about Maisie Dobbs, a psychologist and investigator in 1930’s England. In just a few weeks, I’ve devoured the first 3 in the series by Jacqueline Winspear.

What especially caught my attention is that Maisie uses her intuition to help her solve her cases. She tunes in and meditates. Curiosity and questions are the heart of her work. She observes:

“Truth walks toward us on the paths of our questions…as soon as you think you have the answer, you have closed the path and may miss vital new information. Wait a while in the stillness, and do not rush to conclusions, no matter how uncomfortable the unknowing.”

What truths are walking toward you in the form of questions?

How do you navigate those times of uncomfortable unknowing?

The times when we DON’T yet know are potent – but we too often push through, when what’s really being asked of us is deep listening, a slower pace, and compassion.

What if you’re being invited into a sacred stillness where the answers and clarity gently arise from your Higher Self and the Divine?

This quote by Rainer Maria Rilke has been a lifeline for me at certain crossroads of my life:

“Be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves, like locked rooms and like books that are now written in a very foreign tongue. Do not now seek the answers, which cannot be given you because you would not be able to live them. And the point is, to live everything. Live the questions now. Perhaps you will then gradually, without noticing it, live along some distant day into the answer.”

If you find yourself in a time of more questions than answers, know that it’s a particularly sacred and potent time. The discomfort can be lessened by sharing your questions with someone you trust. I hope you have someone in your life who can hold space for you to live the questions and not rush to the answers.

I offer Heart and Soul Strategy Sessions for just such times of questions and crossroads.
